2010 Golf Tournament for SAN DIEGO’S FOSTER CHILDREN

May is National Foster Care Month...You Can Change a Lifetime!

Rules:          USGA rules will govern play with the exception of the scramble format and the following local rules and conditions.

Format:        4 Person Scramble:
A scramble means that all four team members tee off on each hole and then decide which tee shot they like the best and mark that spot with a tee or ball marker. The other team members pick up their balls and place them within one club length (no closer to the hole) of the marked spot. Each team member hits their next shot from the chosen spot of the prior shot. This procedure is followed on every shot for the remainder of the hole, including putts. The ball should be marked on the putting green also. Putts need to be made within 3 inches of the marked spot (no closer to the hole). The first ball to go in the hole is counted for the team score. The condition of the lie must remain the same (if you are in the rough, you must play from the rough, if in a sand trap you must play from the sand trap etc.)

Local Rules:  Teams must use at least three (3) tee shots per player. Teams with only three players may take a fourth shot by alternating all three players.

(The extra alternating shot CANNOT be used to win any hole-in-one, closest to the pin or longest drive contest)

Mulligans:      No Individual Player May Take More Than (3) Mulligan Shots.

Tees:           Ladies: Red
                   Men:    White

Competition: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Players Will Each Receive Trophies and Golf Gift Certificates.

Ties:            All ties will be broken by comparing the scores against the handicap of each hole using the USGA recommended method.
